Condolence: I first came to know John in my professional capacity when my client, Ashton Mining, was seeking a CEO for its Canadian subsidiary. On meeting John, there was no question he was ideal in every way. Apart from his acknowledged and superb technical skills, John was the most elegant, thoughtful, and intuitive gentleman I have ever met. He was always gracious, even in difficult circumstances. Over the years I would often turn to him for his insights on the industry, its people and companies. I will remember him fondly as a friend as well as a business acquaintance.

Condolence: I have known Sandy since my late teens as
Shirray and I are best friends.
I was talking to Shirray yesterday and was
saying how truly lucky she was to have had a
brother as wonderful as Sandy.
He was with her in every step of life.
Sandy really was an amazing person in so many
ways.
My thoughts are with you B.J. and the
kids. Hope to see you all soon.
Love Liz

Condolence From: Dann, Roxanne, Claxton, Paris
Condolence: Dear BJ and Family, one of our annual pleasures was finally realizing that John and BJ were here for the summer. Walking around the corner, hearing your laughter and yelling in "are you here" meant that it was officially summer. John was the children's favourite "silly hat walk" judge. We truly enjoyed every conversation with our special friends from BC. We all loved John's gentle way and we'll miss his wonderful smile and kind words. Love, Dann, Roxanne, Claxton and Paris.

Condolence: Dear BJ and Kids
I was saddened to hear that Sandy died.
I will always remember those great days at your place here on Lake Simcoe.
Your father was wonderful and lots of fun.
We will not forget him.
Love Phil

Condolence: I had the great good fortune to serve on the Cameco board with John. Some of his former colleagues were sharing reminiscences earlier today about John - a good miner, great on governance, and an all around great guy. The world is poorer in his absence. My sincere sympathies on his passing.

Condolence: My memories of early selco days include the warmth and kindness that john and you shared with all of us. Nean forwared john' s notice to me this morning. Garry and I send our deepest condolence to you and your family. I did know that john had cancer but was not aware of his supportive efforts for helping others with his tireless efforts. Take care, pat

Condolence: To BJ and family, my deepest sympathy. John was a fine geologist and gentleman, with a great sense of humour. I have good memories of the mid-'70s in Toronto when he was in charge of finances for the very successful Toronto '78 GAC-GSA meeting and I (working at the Northern Miner at the time) was the publicity and information person. Those were good times,

Condolence: BJ and Family,
I really loved and respected that man. He taught and coached me professionally and personally, I will always be grateful to have had those experiences. Somewhere along the way, he became much more to me. He became a true and lasting friend. I never saw him without a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile. And, what an old fashioned gentleman - I could use his help still in that area. I shall miss seeing John, but I won't miss him because I carry him with me.

BJ, you are such a rock! Thank you so much for your love and for caring for John - or as you called him - Sandy.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Kindly,
Robby Gilmore

Condolence: I had the pleasure of serving with John on the board of Eldorado Gold for a few years and we became friends He was wise, thoughtful and considerate, both professionally and personally. We were able to spend some time in Turkey touring mines, with side trips to a few ruins and he proved to be a reliably interesting and engaging travel companion. We also found time for a couple of lunches with friends and for a couple of dinners with our wives in Vancouver. In every way he was cheerful and courageous despite his illness. I will miss him very much and remember him with affection.
Mary Ann and I extend our deepest sympathy to BJ and the family.
